*** Exciting News ***

42 Degrees Coaching has grown far more rapidly than I could of ever of dreamed of. When I set up the business it was because coaching and developing riders was my passion. This is what I had done for 6 years previously and what I really wanted to do as a full time job. The opportunity arose and 2 years later the passion has only intensified and seeing riders progress and achieve their goals is what really makes my job the best in the world. I do however have full books and a waiting list, so I’m in a very fortunate position to be able to bring in an additional coach. This coach has a wealth of experience and expertise and there is nobody I would trust more to bring into the fold. He is someone who holds the same core values as I do and I’m sure that this coach will only enhance the company in which we are already seeing some amazing results being achieved across the board.

So, it is with absolute delight that 42 Degrees Coaching welcomes on board, James Taylor.

Being brought up on a bike, James was part of the very first World Class Performance Programme in 1998. Riding for some of the top UK teams he changed route and went to the USA for 3 years before returning to finish his career with the PCA Continental Professional Team.

Splitting his time between road and track, James has won 38 national titles – including six Madison titles – 50 national medals and was crowned Elite Circuit Race Champion in 2006.

Retiring in 2007, James became Olympic Talent Coach for British Cycling based at Newport Velodrome. Athletes coming through the Welsh Talent Programme at that time included Amy Roberts, Elinor Barker, Sam Harrison, Lewis Oliva and Owain Doull.

Moving on during the London Olympic cycle to Triathlon, James managed the Talent Programme there and was also the Team Manager for Triathlon England at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where he and the team of athletes secured 3 gold medals.

James is currently managing the Talent Pathway for British Fencing, where this past weekend, they have won their first ever Junior World team medal.

James will, as all 42 Degrees Coaching riders have, be offering personalised training plans via Training Peaks Premium. James is here to help you reach your cycling goals whilst having a one to one open communication platform, which I have always felt is essential in your individual progression.

With huge plans for 2016 and beyond James, is going to be an excellent addition to 42 Degrees Coaching’s future.

James has now opened his books and currently has spaces, so if you’re looking for someone to help you achieve your dreams, he can be contacted on

Please welcome James to the 42 Degrees family and as always, if you need to contact me, my phone is always on.
